Q: I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT and looking to add upgrades, heres the costs, whys labor so high?
I'm looking to add cruise control to my sxt and also fog lamps. I'm fine with paying $225 for the cruise control kit and $189 for the fog lamp kit but the labor charges are crazy. Its $212 to install the cruise and $212 to install the fog lamps. Would it be my best interest since its still under warranty to go through dodge or would it be acceptable to find a trusting mechanic and a local shop to do it if they have a warranty on their labor? I'm thinking i'll take the hit for the cruise control and get it done at dodge itself but the fog lamps i may take the part and go to a local dealer. Any suggestions and why is labor so high at the dodge dealer? If this helps, i live in Danbury, Connecticut.
A: Dealers are always high they have more overhead than an independent shop. But dont forget you get what you pay for. By the way if the foglight kit is a factory accessory it should be somewhat simple to install. If you are mechaniccally inclined you might think about making the foglights a saturday project. As for the cruise you are better off to get it done by the dealer since it is a new model and finding someone familiar with it might be hard. Best of luck let me know how it turns out.
Q: where is the fuse box in a dodge caliber,2008?
Can anyone tell me where I can find the fuse box on my 2008 Dodge Caliber?
A: It is under the hood, on the left side, under the removeable part of the air intake.
Q: I am getting a Dodge Caliber in the next week or so. Will insurance be high?
I am a 17 year old male, and I have a 4.0 GPA. I am either getting a new or really nice used one with low mileage. I am considering the SE Plus or the SXT.
Plus, I live in a really small town with a population of around 1500. I will be using the car for daily use. (drive to school, work, etc.) Will this drop the price of the insurance?
A: that's going to depend on your driving record, and the area where you live in,they consider that now on the rates,it shouldn't be to bad but being17 has its draw backs when getting insurance, you,ll probably pay well over 200 a month for this if its in your name,if its in your parents name and you on as a part time driver it will be a lot less, that might be something to consider for a while anyway, then get it in your name fully, this way it will save you a lot of money, any new vehicle is high on insurance now days, good luck.
Q: How do you remove the stereo on a dodge caliber 08?
I am trying to add an amp and subs to my factory stereo andcant figure out how to get the center console out.
A: i will not recommend you to do it unless your confident enough.
before pulling the unit you will have to unclick or remove the dash kit surrounding it.
then you have to unscrew the unit from inside and then use clips supplied with the head unit (very hard to describe without diagram)then it can be puled out.
don't use pointed equipment or you may damage/scratch the dash
and see the user manual its all mentioned there.
Q: How much will it cost to fix damage to my Dodge Caliber?
Yesterday afternoon while I was leaving work someone backed out of their parking space, right into my car. There is a lot of damage done to the car right now. There is a dent by the left headlight, the left headlight itself is half inside the car and half out. The half that is pushed out is to the point where my left front turn signal doesn't work. My fender is going to have to be replaced, and my hood is going to have to be realigned. Based on what I just said, can anyone give me a rough estimate on how much it will cost to fix the damage. Thank you.
The other person does have car insurance and hopefully her insurance will be paying for the repairs, but I just want to know for myself how much it would cost to get the repairs done.
A: i own a shop and i d say no less than 3 thousand right now,and that's without seeing it,and i know I'm off on it,its going to be more than that ,but expect at least that on it,hope you get it fixed soon, good luck with it.
Q: How many miles can you put on a dodge caliber?
Looking to get a 2007 or 2008. I travel 45 miles to get to work... whats a good suggestion for long mileage and reliability?
A: those are pretty good vehicles to own when they first came out i was kind of unsure about them but they have proved to be good vehicles,i do service on one that's got well over 150 thousand on it and its a late 06 model,it belongs to a salesman, and he travels a lot,and so far he has never had any major break downs other than flat tires, you should have real good luck from one driving such a short distance, that's what I'm taking on vacation this year is my neighbors caliper,he offered it free of charge,so why not,but they are good vehicles just keep the maintenance up reel good on it and have the small things repaired when they go bad don't let them go unattended,it should make you a real good vehicle, and their not too bad on gas either, good luck .
Q: How does the Dodge Caliber do in the snow?
We bought one in May, and really like it. We bought a base model because money is tight, but are still pleased with it. Anyway, we travel often to MT and were wondering how it does in snow and over passes...or should we stick with my minivan with traction control for those trips?
A: I have been with Chrysler ,Dodge and Jeep for seven years now so I do feel qualified to answer your question. I remember last year when it snowed very heavily I was amazed at the way the caliber made its way through the snow and I think you will also .I have heard nothing but great reviews from my customers on gas MPG and handling so I think you will have no need to worry this year when the snow hits. thanks.!
Q: What do you think about a Dodge Caliber?
Im learning to drive but me and my dad have to share the car..he wants to get a new car and since we are sharing he calls me and asks if i like dodge calibers. Well i kinda think they look nice but are they good on gas, are they eco friendly etc.
A: It's not very fuel-efficient for its size. Otherwise the features are nice and it's relatively inexpensive. Personally, I really dislike the cvt transmission, but it's a matter of taste.
If it was my money, I'd get an all-wheel drive R/T with Auto-Stick.
Q: dodge caliber. Every time I make a turn or hit a bump my stereo turns off and takes awhile to go back on?
I have a problem with my car stereo in my car (dodge caliber) Every time I am driving and make a turn or hit a bump my stereo always turns off and takes awile to go back on
A: when it comes back on does it reset its self or does it return to normal ,because some of those gave problems with the wiring on the back of the radio where they plug together at,if you still have the warranty on it id take it back and let the dealer repair it,they may wind up replacing the radio which would be a good idea because some of those did give problems especially the ones with cd players in them, good luck.
Q: Is anyone out there driving a Dodge Caliber & What do you think of it?
I would like too know if it's a good car to buy?
A: is a very very good car CUV one of teh best you can see.
it has a very confiable motor
Q: What to buy a Dodge Caliber any problems with motor, tranmission Etc.?
We are both very tall people that has a small family wanting a hatch pack with good gas mileage, but also as a girl want a great look. As for price Can't spend more then 12,000 or so. Plans are to buy used, With look miles..
A: I guess you should also check insurance quotes for the car before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.maclenet.com
As I remember Dodge Caliber is expensive to insure.
Q: What is your oppinion of a Dodge Caliber or a Dodge magnum?
I like their looks but know very little about either of them.
A: Unfortuantely, the Dodge Magnum is no longer in production. DC dropped the Magnum back in December 07 and the last 08 model was produced in June 08. So, you will more than likely have to look for a used one unless you can still find an 08 on the lot.
I did own a 05 Magnum R/T AWD, it was a very nice car with the 5.7L Multi-Displacement Hemi which shuts down to 4 cylinder mode. It has great room for the family and strollers. Lots of leg room for everyone, very smooth riding car, lots of power. The fuel economy was not terrible for the size of vehicle I usually avg. 16MPG city and 24 MPG highway.
I upgraded to a 06 Magnum SRT8 model for the 6.1L hemi for more power but that came with less fuel economy 14MPG city and 22MPG highway.
The Dodge Magnum comes in 4 trim levels, SE (2.7L V6), SXT (3.5 HO V6), R/T (5.7L MDS V8) and the SRT8 (6.1L Hemi). The SXT and R/T version are the only trim level that offered the AWD version. Talking with a few owners the SXT and R/T got very similar fuel economy, the SE version was not great on power.
The Dodge Caliber is much smaller as you probably know by now. However, you gain in fuel economy over the Magnum. Fuel economy numbers for the Caliber I have heard are approx. 21city and 27 Highway. Also, you don't have the power like the Hemi Magnum unless you look at a Caliber SRT4 version and that car looks great and is fast. Not sure about the fuel economy on them.
If you are intrested in the Magnum I would look at the SXT or R/T model unless you are power hungry then look at the SRT8 version. I would stay clear of the SE version.
Caliber, I don't know much about them only test drove the R/T version and was impressed with the drive, but not quiet as much room as my Magnum for my kids strollers. If I was looking at a Caliber I would look at the SRT4 for the power and looks.
Q: Should I get the Dodge Charger SE or the Dodge Caliber SXT?
Please I need help in making a decision! I keep going back and forth, and I just can't seem to make up my mind. Please do not suggest any other vehicles. I have already done my research, and it is between these two cars. Does anyone have either one of these? I am not getting the car new; I am getting a nice used one with under 20,000 miles on it. My maximum spending amount is around $21,000. Please help me!
A: i got my charger as a 07 with 21k miles on it with chrome 22's and some more chrome accessories for 19k and it is AMAZING i love it mine may only be a v6 but for the price you cant go wrong, just dont be afreaid to tell the dealers no deal and walk out they will go to what u want i promise.
Q: Does the Dodge Caliber have all wheel drive on all models or just some models?
If it is just some models, which ones are they? I'm looking for a vechile with good gas mileage that will drive well on snowy roads as I am teacher in a rual area.
I am only intrested in American made vechiles. Please answer the question about the vechile I asked. Thank you.
A: You can only get AWD on the R/T model of Caliber. Don't listen to the other bozos. Calibers are nice vehicles. If you want, go to www.dodge.com and price one up.
Q: Should I get a Dodge Caliber or a Dodge Charger?
I will be getting a new car this summer. I will be a senior, and I will need a dependable car to go off to college. Do you have any other good car suggestions? My maximum amount to spend is around $20K --- $23K. I also want more of a sportsy car.
A: both of those are good vehicles, what i would do is go and test drive a few of each and see which one i liked the best, you may drive one charger and then decide you like a caliber more than charger, and by then you may change your mind on something else,it helps to test drive one,it sort of gives you a feeling of what it will be to own one,if you don't like the test drive then you sure wont like owning one ,good luck with your decision.
