Q: Grinding Sound When Turning 6K 2008 Dodge Caliber SE Plus Can't Find Problem Out Any Help?
Had it to the dealer once which they couldn't duplicate the problem and blamed it on the cold and said wait for the car to warm up.
The car has just 6k on it when the problem started happening and I can still hear it even when it's warmed up if anyone else has an answer for this problem I'd appreciate it too.
If it isn't clear the problem is when turning left or right there is a grinding sound coming from the front of the car.
P.S. please don't post if all your going to answer is well it's a Dodge or an American car what do you expect...
Thanks to all the helpful answers in advance
A: if the grinding sound only comes when u turn right or left, then have the steering system checked
i guess it might be something with the bearings of the steering system
hope i helped :)
Q: Chrysler Sebring 2007 vs. Dodge Caliber 2008?
I'm getting ready to purchase a vehicle, and it's come down to these 2 cars. The Sebring has 13,000 miles and the Caliber has 16,000 miles. Which do you think would be the better choice? Help!!
A: I'd have to say the Dodge Caliber is little a better car.
But I'd agree with the others about both. You're not going to get much of a car from Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep. They make some of the worst cars on the road. Honda, Subaru, Chevrolet, Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Nissan, even Hyundai and Kia make better cars.
Q: Anyone have an issued with the Dodge Caliber specifically a loud humming sound from the rear of the car?
I have a 2008 Dodge Caliber and within the past month I started noticing a loud humming noise coming from the rear of the car. It is most notably on the highway and progressively gets louder the faster the vehicle travels.
Any idea on what this may be the vehicle has just over 10,000 miles on it and I am about to take it in for an oil change that is due and and a tire rotation.
thanks to all who answer
P.S. if your going to say it's a Dodge that's the problem don't bother answering the question
A: It's under warranty, I would have the dealer take care of it when you take it in for the oil change. Tell the service manager what is happening and and ask that one of the mechanics take a ride with you so he/she can hear what you hear.
Q: Dodge Caliber or Ford Fusion?
I need to buy a new, bigger car for me and my little baby girl. I'm debating between Dodge Caliber and Ford Fusion..
I want the car to be
- stylish
- safe
- roomy enough for all the baby stuff i.e. stroller
- economical
Any opinions which one would be better for us?

http://www.dodge.com/en/2008/caliber/
A: No doubt the Ford Fusion is the hands down winner here. It's five star safety rated, very stylish and has a lot of room in a smaller car. Where the Fusion truly shines is quality. This car is based, along with the Mercury Milan and Lincoln mkX/mkZ on the Mazda 6 platform. The Fusion has actually beaten the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in initial quality. By contrast, the Dodge is based on the Neon chassis which is far less proven for dependability. You can get a Fusion very nicely equipped for less than a comparibly equipped Caliber. I think the style of the Fusion is very superior to the Dodge now and will definitely hold up better if you plan to keep the car. Best of luck to you!
Q: Dodge Caliber engine question?
what is a better engine for a 2008 Caliber the 1.8L or 2.0L?
A: the 2.0 is the bigger engine, but the 1.8 seems to be doing really good in those, there's been less problems with the 1.8 than the 2.0 so far,but both of the have had problems, good luck.
Q: How often to get oil changed?
I have a 2008 dodge caliber and the manual says at least every 6,000 miles, the dealer said 3,000, there is an oil change indicator and that goes off at any time. Any input would be helpful, I drive about 350-450 miles a week and almost all or it is highway.
A: Great Car, Good Engine. "Dealer goes by Old Standards" With a good 5W-30 or 10W-30 or even a Synthetic Blend 5,000 to 7,000 or every 5 months is right.
Q: Is it easier to get a new or used car with bad credit?
The car I want (2008 Dodge Caliber) is $14,500 + TTL. I have $6,750 for a down payment on the car. Is that enough?
Or I would it be easier to get a used 2007 Dodge Caliber for $12,950 + TTL?
A: New, the only time the program vehical would help is if there was a bigger price difference.
You might want to take your drivers license. paycheck stub, phone bill and utility bill with you.
Q: how do i find out what size rims i can put on it?
i just bought a 2008 dodge caliber i want to put a decent set of rims and tires on it, how can i find out what will work and what will not?
A: i got a website that will let you try different rims and tires on a vehicle ,it should have your make and model on it and it will allow you to see what the wheels and tires will look like on that vehicle ,i have used this one and its a pretty good site to use ,good luck with it ,,http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/page.cfm

Q: Dodge Caliber?
Does anyone on here own a Dodge Caliber? And if so, what do you think of it? Really? I am considering purchasing one of these, I like the looks, I test drove one and it was a realy descent ride. I am thinking of gettting it loaded! Fully loaded. Just looking for current owners and what they think after owning one. I was thinking seriously about having one ordered in this year (2008) that way I can specify all the options I want. Also looking at the SRT-4 version of this and weighing $ versus the R/T model. Thanks in advance to all who reply.
A: live in g/f has an 07 sxt. she loves it. i have put about 1000 miles on it myself, plus work for a dodge dealership. i like the car, it fits nicely. i am 5-10 and not headroom probs like the taller guy. the CVT takes a bit of getting used to, but otherwise very problem free and fun.
i do prefer my neon though...
Q: Where can I get a set of stock wheels and tires from the 2009 srt-4?
I drive a 2008 dodge avenger sxt and I want to get the painted aluminum srt wheels that come stock on the 2009 dodge caliber srt-4
I’ve been searching everywhere (even oem sites, and ebay for used) and cant find them or the price for them
Does anyone know?
A: try a dodge dealership, they usually have a parts department though it can be a little pricy
