Q: 2008 dodge nitro 4x4?
i'm thinking about buying a dodge nitro. what are the pros. and cons. is the 4x4 good on this suv.

A: Pros-It looks like a big refrigerator on wheels, but...um...a cool refrigerator. With a snazzy paint job. Cons-The gas mileage stinks, it isn't as fast as it looks (I mean, 0-60 in 8.5 seconds), the interior design is cheap, overall it feels like a rental car gone wrong! But hey, if you really are obsessed with the exterior design it might be worth considering.

Q: Selling cars online SLOWWW months.. Why?
The past two months have been hell. We have over 100 cars in stock and only five have been sold in the past two months. FIVE. We just got a dude working on seo and I know this takes a while. It's March and only two have been sold via the internet. We have backup source, though, which still gives us a good 30-50 cars a month sold.. but our inventory makes people poo when they see our good prices! Is it normal to have 40+ calls a month from the internet, and only two or three cars sold that month? I have a feeling it has to do with selection mostly. A car we had (our only wholesale car) was sold and received more phone calls than for a 2008 dodge nitro. I know wholesale cars sell better online, right? Whats the slowest month for internet sales (we are a used car dealership.. mostly 2005-2008 models) and when will this start picking up? Do you think it's my salespeople?

A: There is always a dip in online car sales at this time of year and it picks up beginning after Easter and lasts through Labor Day. It definitely makes it difficult if you have a ton invested in your inventory around this time of year so it is usually a better idea to keep inventory low during this time period and save up to have more inventory 9especially wholesale) during the peak months. Most cars are going to be losing about 3% in value every month that they sit on the lot and go unsold and that is just bad for business. Texas Direct who has the largest volume of online car sales on eBay has a very simple policy of rotating their inventory back into the wholesale market within 2 weeks of getting the car and it works for them very well. You can buy their book here and i highly recommend the investment- it is great reading. http://www.amazon.com/Million-Under-Motors-Largest-Dealer/dp/B000RWGD8E A good SEO is important but so are the marketplaces that you choose to use. Using eBay Local Market for dealers is good for run of the mill cars while more rare cars are better on eBay's main Motors site. Using a good listing tool (combined with a solid inventory tool) like Auction123 can get you on several sites including Craigslist is great but of course all of this is outgoing expense until your cars start moving. Good luck! I hope that you get that book! :)

Q: Has Chrysler Killed Jeep?
Is it just me or is Jeep dead? To me it started with dumping the Cherokee in 2001 in favor of the Liberty. (Side note the new 2008 Liberty is a reworked/refaced Dodge Nitro.) Now there is a Compas(Dodge Caliber), the Patriot (front wheel drive) And the bigger soccer mom friendly mini van V6 powered Jeep Wrangler. A Jeep (I'm talking orig open air type vehicle) is a vehicle that when you take it off road one can hose it off inside and out. It is a vehicle that the owner can work on and modify him/herself w/out an advance degree in enginering from Brown. I'm not saying that the won't Wrangler be a good off vehicle. I just think that none off roaders shouldn't have such a big influence on how the JEEP should ride or if it should have all the creature feature as the H2 or H3( over priced Tahoe and Cayan). Then there is Chryslers stupid "Trailrated" badge. Marketers suck! Is your Jeep better than my jeep because it has a badge? No! Its just a sticker!

A: I believe 2006 will be called the last year of the REAL Jeep. The new JK (the first model that didn't end in J and there hasn't been 26 models) Wrangler is the first public offering jeep that is TWO WHEEL DRIVE! The Compass and Patriot are front wheel drive with optional AWD. Yuck ;-( Chrysler killed off arguably the most bullet proof modern motor, the 4.0, for a V6 based on the Caravan engine. Before people jump on me about the motor issue understand that a 100000 mile 4.0 that was well maintained is not uncommon and that off-roaders and even racers use it. It's easy to work on and it's easy to modify. The original trailrated badge meant that the vehicle was able to cross the Rubicon Trail unmodified. So many things have crossed the Rubicon that now it's probably been flattened to the point a Volkswagon Beetle can cross it. Styles change and chrysler has to change with the times. I think the new Jeep's front flares look absurdly large and the continously ever shrinking grill looks dumb, but that is a styling choice (it also makes it impossible to swap in a 4.0, no room) A friend of mine measured and he says the Hemi will fit so expect a V8 Hemi Unlimited in the future. Did Chrysler kill Jeep? No, but we are witnessing a good S&M strangulation.
